Guerlain Habit Rouge L'Instinct Eau De Toilette Masculino - 100ml

Pleasantly citrusy but leaning more towards orange-mandarin, so it doesn't have any bathroom cleaner vibes at all. It lasts on me (and that's exceptional) the whole day without fogging up the entire room. It also has a spicy note, but soft enough that it works well for women too. It's a true unisex fragrance, developing significantly sweeter on my skin than on my husband's. I would buy it again and again.

Summer is knocking at the door so I'm glad to have this fresh and interesting perfume in my closet. It's a freshy with a classic vibe. Yes it starts out familiar with some bergamot and grapefruit, but quickly the patchouli and leather take over, almost turning it into a chypre-ish grandpa juice. That patchouli is right up my alley. None of that damp moist stuff, more like the crisp earthy stuff. I'm not really familiar with the rest of the Habit Rouge line (yet) but I just love how this smells. Maybe if you expect something completely different, then it might be a letdown for you. But I have no history with it so I'm just enjoying this to the max. The only gripe I have is that it just doesn't last very long and it doesn't project that well. After 6 hours you'll really have to dig your nose into your skin to still smell it.

The classic French fragrances like Habit Rouge EdT and EdP do not meet this expectation. Too voluptuous, too heavy, too strong. So, a flanker is developed that corresponds to the Chinese expectation. And here it is, Habit Rouge L'Instinct. What this has to do with instinct, who knows. But names are anyway just sound and here no smoke. It is far too light for me, far too little present. Just the hint is not enough for me. I want the strong presence of the original. Yes, it hints at something citrusy. The leathery, the animalistic? If that is present, my sense of smell is not up to it. However, that cannot be ruled out. Others do report it, after all. But it probably doesn't have to and shouldn't please me, this L'Instinct.
