Really wanted to love this backpack as style and look a plus. Massive downfall being the front space is only a quarter of the size of the actual bag, so in essence just a top front pocket. If you put anything into it it renders to bag top heavy so won't stand up and constantly rolls over. If you open the pocket with the zipper everything just spills out. When you come to want to put anything into the main compartment the front pocket bulges out so much so it blocks the larger pocket. Useless Honestly, good looking bag but look elsewhere. Shame

Bought this for my daughter after her previous North Face backpack straps both broke. This one seems to be of better construction and she is very happy with it.

I'm saddened that I fell for the internet once again. I switched from my other brand backpack, figuring the Northface has such a good reputation for quality, and the reviews here were solid, and I've regretted it since. This backpack is designed terribly. It is nearly impossible to get anything out of this backpack easily, and it holds nowhere near its stated capacity. But probably most annoying, they cut the front pocket off well before halfway down, which you might think at least gives you more space at the bottom, but no, it does not. I would not recommend this at all, unless you are looking for a pack that doesn't hold much and makes you work to access what little it does hold

My wife bought me this as a father's day gift to replace the original northface backpack that was amazing. This is so poorly designed. The front pocket where you keep all your small items is only cut to the center of the bag... causing it to constantly fall over when placed in a car, chair or floor. the bag looks really nice on. I used it as a daily driver for my work laptop and gear. But i dread it. When i travel i use the old Northface bag.

I thought I'd give it a chance since it was on sale, but the other reviewers are right. It's absolutely not self-standing, and fairly heavy. It lacks a lot of organisational features. I haven't found it to be all that comfortable, but that might be a personal thing. External mesh pockets are NOT elastic and quite loose, so depending on what you put in there you might have something constantly moving as you walk. I was looking for a replacement for a basic HP backpack which cost me half the sale price of the Jester, but this just isn't it.
